TL;DR

  • Tiffany Fong released the first-ever photo of Sam Bankman-Fried in prison, gaining over twelve million views.
  • Fong, known for her exclusive insights into SBF’s downfall, has continued to cover his story, including an upcoming interview with a former inmate about SBF’s prison life.
  • SBF, awaiting sentencing for a major fraud case, is adapting to prison without facing threats, despite changes to his personal hygiene and being teased by inmates.

Renowned independent crypto journalist Tiffany Fong has managed to get her hands on the first-ever pictures of our boy Sam Bankman-Fried “SBF” in prison, alongside all his criminal buddies. Fong shared the image on the social media platform, X, and followed it with a story about how she got to acquire them in the first place. The picture has since gone viral, with over twelve million views as of the time this article was being written.

Recall that Fong is the journalist who worked closely with SBF to disclose exactly what went down at FTX. She has since been featured on Rolling Stone for achieving what so many professional journalist and news anchors couldn’t; which was get SBF to talk and share evidence papers with her that no one has seen before.

Now as we all know, the disgraced Bankman-Fried was sentenced to jail back in November 2023. During that time, when Fong was spending hours with him behind locked doors, the crypto community and SBF’s parents themselves all thought the two were dating. Apparently, they were not. Fong hasn’t seen SBF since he got locked up, but she has sent him letters. That’s all we know about that.

As you can see in the image, four out of the five people pictured with him have their faces crossed out. But it’s okay. See that guy on SBF’s right? The only other person whose face isn’t blurred? That’s a now-former inmate who was in there on blood gang charges. His name is G Lock and Fong tells us she has an interview with him scheduled to release in a few days where they talk about SBF’s life in prison.

However, she gave us a little tease. A hint of what is to come. From the short video she shared, we can see G Lock making fun of SBF whilst also praising him at the same time. As it turns out SBF is handling prison life pretty well. He hasn’t faced any real threats or bullying.

G Lock mentioned that SBF is tougher than the well-known rapper 6ix9ine (Tekashi69) because SBF hasn’t betrayed anyone, unlike 6ix9ine who is known for doing just that. G Lock added that even though SBF is a bit odd, most people think of him as a decent person. The former gangster also said that Sam Bankman-Fried is apparently not showering very much in there. He isn’t getting haircuts, so he is not as clean or shaven as he used to be.

An intriguing detail shared is that SBF and other prisoners saw his “60 Minutes” interview with Michael Lewis, which covered his journey from success to downfall. They also teased SBF about his relationship with Caroline Ellison. Right now, SBF is waiting for his sentence in one of the biggest fraud cases ever, where almost $9 billion in customer funds vanished.
