In a recent development, Microsoft’s Xbox support team announced that the latest Xbox firmware update includes a fix for some of the crashing issues plaguing Baldur’s Gate 3 on the Xbox platform.
The highly anticipated release of Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3 for Xbox earlier this month was marred by reports of crashes that resulted in save files disappearing or becoming unusable for some players.

The statement from Xbox support reads,
“While we still don’t recommend powering off your console by unplugging it, the latest console update includes a fix for some players; we are continuing to investigate all save issues reported.”
Earlier this month, Xbox support had warned Baldur’s Gate 3 players, alerting them to the potential saving issues associated with the game. In their communication, they advised players not to disconnect their Xbox consoles from power, as doing so could result in lost progress.
The previous advisory from Xbox support stated that Xbox is aware of a problem that can cause players to lose saved progress in Baldur’s Gate 3. To avoid this issue, players should save their game and then return to the Xbox dashboard and select ‘Quit Game’ or ‘Save to Quick Resume’ from the game menu (Home, Game, Select, and then choose ‘Save to Quick Resume’ or ‘Quit’) when they finish playing.
“Users should not disconnect their console from the power. Users should select ‘shut down’ from the console menu and leave their Xbox connected to power. We are working to fix this ASAP.”
