TL;DR

A missing 9-year-old has been confirmed to be kidnapped after the kidnappers sent a five Bitcoin (5-BTC) ransom demand for the safe return of the child. The ransom demand was sent through a law enforcement website and social media.

The social media group has been given forty-eight (48) hours to collect and send the ransom of five Bitcoin which amounts to almost twenty thousand dollars to the given address if they want the safe return of the missing child. The ransomers have contacted the group dubbed, Western Cape Gangwatch.

The group operating in close coordination with the South African authorities and so far all attempts to track down the kidnappers have failed since there is no internet IP address or other track of the email sent to the group.

The attempt to track the Bitcoin address provided by the kidnappers revealed that the address did not receive the demanded amount however the amount received by the address was moved to some cryptocurrency exchange address through another Bitcoin address with large Bitcoin transactions.

The girl dubbed Linathi Tithsala comes for an average family however the kidnappers are of unknown origins, and it is not confirmed whether the kidnappers have subjected the girl to any abuse.

The search for the missing girl is still underway while the kidnappers wait for ransom. The girl has been missing since December and was last seen going back to her house from her grand mother’s house on the same street.
