AMD announces new FSR 3.1 updates

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. said that the recent updates with FSR 3.1 include advanced temporal stability. The stability minimizes shimmering and flickering. It also boosts ghosting reduction, as revealed by the company. The firm said the advanced temporal stability preserves details for tech upscaling.

Due to these advancements, gamers can even run the game at a lower resolution. However, players can still stretch the image out to ensure it fits the screen’s size. This is what Nvidia’s DLSS 2 does. As a result, players get better image quality advancements than FSR 2.2, as revealed by AMD.

AMD also explained the improved ghosting reduction and boosted detail preservation. Additionally, AMD acknowledged its commitment to developer support, which is available for Xbox Game Development Kit (GDK) and Vulkan.

The software firm also revealed the upgradable FSR API, enabling developers to easily access all future FSR versions. The company’s new, improved frame generation, which is a decoupled frame gen tech, functions perfectly with other solutions for upscaling.
