The announcement comes in response to fan requests that had flooded the various channels manned by the Nexon. Despite The First Defier being heavily focused on combat and exploration, the fan community has been vocal about wanting more expressive character physics. The requests were to match the game’s revealing skins, which are a hit among some gamer circles. The update would make the most of the game characters’ visual appeal, adding to its visual identity and player experience.

Nexon’s announcement comes two months after PD Lee promised gamers that the development staff would do their utmost to meet gamer expectations during a lecture in Korea. During the lecture, Lee stated that the development team would work fast to introduce game content based on the feedback sourced from gamers to boost their satisfaction.  Lee acknowledged the difficulties experienced by the development team and stated that they were working on ways to successfully turn the game’s declining financial performance around.

“That’s crazy. The QOL, graphics, character designs, and whatnot are going to be TOP TIER.

Hopefully, soon they can focus on the next problem, and arguably the most critical problem, CONTENT for the longevity and survival of the game.”

While most gamers were enthusiastic about the announcement made by Nexon, some gamers were still focused on the issues that the game had yet to resolve. Some gamers stated that the game developers should have focused on key issues that they had yet to address instead of doing more “fan service.” However, these claims were shut down, with some users pointing out that the development teams had different focus areas, and the dev notes kept serious gamers updated on the development team’s progress.
