Sony has announced the launch date of its PS5 Pro console. The new member of PS5 family will be available from November 7 onwards. Preordering starts on September 26. The device is said to have improvements in visual quality and gaming performance.
Sony shares that the PS5 Pro contains significant upgrades over older versions. The GPU contains an increased 67% compute units and the memory is faster by 28%. It said these improvements will result in better rendering and a smoother gaming experience.
The reveal also shared that the processing speed is 3x faster than the PS5 base model, with improved light refractions and reflection. The device also uses AI-driven upscaling in PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution technology to display the enhanced image quality.
PS5 Pro-Game Boost is also a new feature that upgrades the performance of 8,500 backward-compatible games. The consoles have the latest Wi-Fi 7 wireless technology and also support 8K gaming.
Selected games will get free updates to use PS5 Pro’s upgraded features. These updates will have a label of PS5 Pro Enhanced.
PS5 Pro comes without a disc drive that can be bought separately
The console comes without a disc drive. However, the Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive can be purchased separately.
PS5 Pro’s prices are USD 699.99, GBP 699.99, EUR 799.99, and JPY 119,980 (including tax) which are considered too high by the fans. One of the tweets that complained about the set price said, “700$ and without a disk drive”.
The new model has the same height, width and overall design as the PS5. Additionally, the console will have a 2TB SSD and DualSense wireless controller. It also includes the pre installed copy of Astro Playroom.
The latest console will be available on various retailers and Playstation’s website as well.
