- W Group has made a $400 million seed investment in SignSplit PBC at a $1 billion valuation.
- W Group is the only investor in the round and becomes the anchor strategic partner for the signed-data platform.
- W Group thinks consent and compensation will become core infrastructure of the AI economy as people and institutions protect their data, work and likeness.
W Group becomes the sole investor and anchor strategic partner of SignSplit’s seed round. The technology startup behind the signed-data platform where people protect their data, work and likeness, license or contribute it to AI, and are compensated for its use.
W Group, a global fintech and technology ecosystem serving more than 40 million users, today announced a $400 million seed investment in SignSplit PBC, the signed-data Company, at a $1 billion valuation.
W Group is the sole investor in the round and becomes SignSplit’s anchor strategic partner. The financing is a Series Seed and combines capital with a multi-year strategic package.
The investment reflects W Group’s view that consent and compensation will become core infrastructure of the AI economy, in the same way that trust, authorization and settlement became core infrastructure of digital finance.
From ‘was the data available?’ to ‘can you prove the person agreed?’
The next generation of AI models, medical research and robotics depends on real-world human data: creative work, faces and voices, skills and everyday experience.
At the same time, the EU AI Act and a rapidly expanding set of U.S. federal and state laws and proposals on privacy, biometrics, deepfakes and digital likeness are shifting the standard from “was the data available?” to “can you prove the person agreed?”
SignSplit is built for that shift. On the platform, people and institutions protect their data, work and likeness, license or contribute it to AI companies, researchers and media, and are compensated for its use.
Founders frame signed data as the trust layer for AI
“Digital finance scaled once people could trust that every transaction was authorized, recorded and settled,” said Volodymyr Nosov, Founder and President of W Group, “The AI economy needs the same for data: proof that a person agreed, a record of every use and fair compensation for what they contribute. SignSplit is building that standard. The scale of our commitment reflects our conviction that this market is at its very beginning and will become central to every industry that relies on human data.”
“SignSplit provides solutions for a world where the boundary between human experience and technology is becoming increasingly fluid,” said Alessandro Monterosso, Co-Founder and CEO of SignSplit. “As AI reaches further into the real world, human knowledge, creativity, skills and identity will become increasingly connected to how technology evolves and interacts with the world around us. We believe SignSplit and the use of signed data can become the bridge between the two, connecting human contribution with protection, participation and compensation as technology advances”.
