University of São Paulo (USP), located in Brazil, will conduct research into the Metaverse in the coming months. According to the school’s official website, the study will be conducted by parties spread across interested participants in Psychology, AR/VR, among others. USP will ensure that these interests align with the technology concept to ensure that participants fully understand the effects of human interaction that it influences.
USP will develop lands in the USM Metaverse
In a statement by a professor at the university, before now, USP had never dealt with NFTs. Notably, the NFTs were gifted to the school through its recent collaboration. The exquisite NFT is a land space that it will develop alongside other famous institutions. The said land is located on the USM. In his statement, the professor, Simplicio Jr, mentioned that USP is the first-ever institution across the region to be involved in the new technology via its partnership. The partnership will also receive input from other collaborators and sponsored by a famous payments facilitator in the crypto space, Ripple.
WEF participants drum support for the Metaverse
In the statement, the collaboration is part of an ongoing agreement known as the UBRI involving universities. In recent reports by media outlets, there has been a lot of buzz around the Metaverse in the last few weeks. This can be buttressed by the current conversation involving the said sector of the technology industry at the WEF. The event, finalized on Thursday, looked into some of the Metaverse’s advantages to users across the world.
Another discussion at the event was how the new technology could help children learn in schools. The panel that discussed the topic consisted of men and women who held high positions at one firm or another. According to one of the panelists, more children are using the internet often than the years before. The panelist advises that they look into building the Metaverse so that it will relate to children seeing as they are the end-users in the coming years. One such is the one currently being carried out by the USP and the USM.
