  • Dallas and Voyager had inked a five-year partnership deal. The deal sees Voyager becoming the team’s official global partner. It’ll help expose basketball fans to crypto and the opportunities that lie in it.

A basketball fan has made news for shooting his way to BTC valued at 100,000 USD. Isiah Stone, a Mavs supporter, bagged the funds during a promotional event. The amount is the most that the club has dished out in a promo.

The Mavs held the Thursday night event with the sponsorship of Voyager. It preceded the Mavs Vs. San Antonio Spurs game and involved several tests.

Mr. Stone emerged tops in all of the promo’s challenges. The first one was a free-throw shootout followed by a three-pointer challenge. Finally, he sank a basket from mid-court to claim his reward.

Thursday’s promo marked the beginning of public engagements between Dallas and Voyager Digital. The two inked a five-year deal to grow crypto awareness globally last Wednesday. This agreement will see them collaborate in crypto-related fan engagement promos.

While concluding the deal, Mavs’ owner Mark Cuban said they were proud to partner with Voyager. He added that cryptos are transforming our thinking on finance.

Collabo will benefit many

Cuban was also optimistic that their collaboration would benefit basketball fans globally. For starters, they’ll get to understand Voyager Digital and its offerings. Further, they’ll learn how to use it to grow their investments.

Wednesday’s agreement goes beyond raising crypto awareness among basketball fans. It additionally makes Voyager the Mavs’ official global sponsor.

It’ll also hold exclusive naming rights over Dallas’s Gaming Hub. This hub hosts the Mavs’ NBA 2K league team.

Voyager is also excited about their newfound relationship. The firm’s CEO, Steve Ehrlich, said the partnership enables them to educate the masses on cryptos. Through it, they’ll learn how to adopt cryptos for daily use.

Further, they’ll learn alternative investment products for gaining financial freedom. And they’ll understand how to use cryptos in building intergenerational wealth. Ehlrich termed the Mavs and Mark Cuban great partners to work with.

The Mavs are crypto pioneers

NBA leagues have been receptive towards cryptos. Coinbase, for instance, had penned a long-term contract with 5 American basketball entities. Besides the men’s league, it’s the official partner for the WNBA, USA Basketball. It’ll also serve the same role for the sport’s 2K and G leagues.

The agreement indicates that Coinbase will be responsible for improving crypto engagements with the supporters. Coinbase’s Kate Rouch affirms that they’ll set up interactive engagements with basketball’s global fans.

Cuban’s Dallas Mavericks are pioneers in NBA’s crypto adoption. They have led the way in accepting crypto-based payments. From 2019 its fans were able to buy matchday tickets using BTC.

Dallas has since expanded the option to include Dogecoin (DOGE). Moreover, its loyalty program rewards fans in crypto. Besides BTC, you can also buy the teams’ merchandise using DOGE or Ethereum.

Thursday night wasn’t a good one for Stone only. His favorite team went on to edge San Antonio by a scoreline of 104-99 points. They had to labor for the result, having trailed the guests for most of the match.
