There is still no official statement from X, and this live coverage will track any updates as they happen.
If that error message below keeps staring back at you on X, whether you are on your laptop or phone, you are not alone. A huge outage has slammed the platform this Monday morning, and it is spreading fast.

The trouble first showed up around 1pm GMT when Downdetector lit up with a sudden surge of complaints in both the US and UK.
Early numbers showed more than 11,000 reports in the US and over 3,300 in the UK. Since then, the situation has escalated sharply, with US reports now climbing past 40,000.
There is still no official statement from X explaining what went wrong. For now, silence.
Normally, users would rush to X itself for updates during a major crash. That is not possible this time. The @Support account cannot be reached either.
Instead, people are gathering in the Downdetector comments section, treating it like a temporary town square. Many say posts are not loading at all, profile pages are blank, and nothing refreshes even after hitting the “retry” button again and again.
When X last suffered a major outage in November 2025, the issue was tied to Cloudflare. This time, that does not seem to be happening.
Downdetector is only showing small, limited spikes for both Cloudflare and AWS, which suggests the cause may be somewhere else.
