Tonkeeper announced that the advanced version of the Tonkeeper self-custody wallet, Tonkeeper Pro, now supported gasless USDT-TRC 20 transactions. It explained that customers can send and receive USDT on the TRON network without holding TRX for network fees.
Tonkeeper Pro to allow USDT-TRC20 transactions without requiring TRX
Tonkeeper wallet revealed that fees on Tonkeeper Pro were now covered using the Tonkeeper Battery, which could be charged with TON or USDT. The company added that users could top up the USDT in-app purchases on iOS and Android.
Tonkeeper said the battery allowed users to preload credits into their wallets. It added that the transfer fees would be automatically deducted from the preloaded credits. The platform added that the battery supported a variety of tokens for preloading and facilitated top-ups via bank cards through in-app purchases.
Tonkeeper CEO Oleg Andreev commented that Tonkeeper’s mission was to make crypto payments easy for everyone and everything. He added that with USDT-TRC-20 support in Tonkeeper Pro, users could make USDT payments without holding TRX in their balance. He explained that the Tonkeeper Battery covered the fees. The CEO said the support for USDT-TRC-20 made it easier for people to gradually transition to USDT on TON, where transaction fees were lower.
The company revealed that with USDT TRC-20 support, Tonkeeper Pro strengthened its role as a payments-first wallet. It added that it allowed users to securely send and receive USDT TRC20 payments within the TON and TRON ecosystems.
Tonkeeper’s USDT-TRC-20 feature resolves Web3 bandwidth challenges
Tonkeeper highlighted that a key challenge in Web3 was maintaining sufficient TRX to cover transaction fees. It added that USDT transfers on the TRON network required energy and bandwidth. The company noted that this meant users could use their available bandwidth or purchase additional resources with TRX.
Tonkeeper explained that the Tonkeeper battery was a built-in feature that streamlined transactions by removing the requirement for bandwidth or more TRX. The company said the battery automatically calculated the required energy and bandwidth. It added that it covered the costs and processed the transaction without needing TRX.
Tonkeeper revealed that since its launch, Tonkeeper Battery has supported over 9 million transactions. It pointed out that the platform was becoming an essential tool for users managing on-chain payments.
The company noted that Tonkeeper users were required to launch the desktop wallet and open settings to access the new TRC20 feature. It added that once the TRC20 was enabled, they could charge the Tonkeeper battery with the supported tokens or a bank card to start enjoying the gasless transactions.
