  • Taurus has joined XDC Network as an institutional validator and will help validate transactions and secure the network.
  • XDC Co-Founder Ritesh Kakkad said the move from a provider serving some of the world’s largest banks validates XDC’s focus on trade finance and real-world assets.
  • Taurus joins a validator set that already includes SBI Holdings, Deutsche Telekom, HashKey Cloud, NTT DOCOMO Global, Hex Trust and others.

Taurus, a global leader in digital asset infrastructure, has joined XDC Network as an institutional validator.

By operating a validator node, Taurus will participate directly in XDC Network’s consensus infrastructure, helping validate transactions and support the security and resilience of the network.

A bank-facing infrastructure provider takes a seat on XDC

Founded in Geneva in 2018, Taurus provides banks and financial institutions with technology to issue, custody, and trade digital assets. Today, it works with more than 40 clients globally and operates from 14 offices worldwide.

“When an infrastructure provider that serves some of the world’s largest banks decides to validate on XDC, it validates the direction we’ve taken with trade finance and real-world assets,” said Ritesh Kakkad, Co-Founder, XDC Network. “Taurus works with institutions that will not compromise on security or compliance. Their choice to run a node here says as much about where regulated finance is heading as it does about XDC.”

Running validators becomes a marker of institutional commitment

Taurus’ move reflects a wider trend among institutional digital asset and infrastructure providers choosing to participate directly in blockchain network infrastructure, Validators are responsible for network governance and security, a role that has become a marker of institutional commitment as more regulated entities enter the space.

“Financial institutions need blockchain infrastructure that meets the same standards of security, governance, and reliability they expect across the rest of their operations,” said Lamine Brahimi, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Taurus. “By joining XDC as a validator, we are contributing directly to the security and resilience of a network focused on trade finance and tokenized assets.”

Taurus joins SBI, Deutsche Telekom and other regulated validators

Taurus joins a validator set that already includes SBI Holdings, Deutsche Telekom, HashKey Cloud, NTT DOCOMO Global, Hex Trust, Cointelegraph Decentralization Guardians and Republic, among other regulated institutions spread across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and North America.

That list keeps growing as more custodians and infrastructure providers decide that observing digital assets isn’t enough anymore.
