Suspect arrested in connection with Bob Lee’s murder

San Francisco Supervisor Aaron Peskin has announced that an arrest has been made concerning the murder of Cash App founder Bob Lee. The San Francisco Police Department has identified the suspect as Nima Momeni, a resident of Emeryville in the Bay Area.

Momeni is the owner of Expand IT, a “one-stop technology and security provider” for enterprise software companies. His LinkedIn profile states he has worked as a “dedicated technology partner,” supporting clients in healthcare, finance, and startups at various tech firms in the Bay Area and San Jose since 2005.

According to jail records, Momeni, aged 38, was booked on suspicion of murder at 9:19 a.m. on Thursday.

According to police sources, Mr. Lee and the suspect were in a vehicle together when an altercation broke out that resulted in Mr. Lee’s death. At the time of his passing, Mr. Lee was the Chief Product Officer for the cryptocurrency company MobileCoin and is credited with creating Cash App, a highly successful person-to-person money-transfer smartphone platform valued at $40bn (£32bn) as reported by Forbes.

Following news of his death, many individuals in the US tech industry paid tribute to Mr. Lee, and numerous people criticized authorities in San Francisco for their response to the city’s rising violent crime rate.
