Ein großer Teil der Ausgaben floss in die Umschuldung von außerbilanziellen Schulden lokaler Regierungen, was den für neue Investitionen verbleibenden Spielraum begrenzte.

Rund 3,4 Billionen Yuan aus neuen speziellen Anleihen lokaler Regierungen wurden zur Tilgung sogenannter versteckter Schulden verwendet – weit mehr als geplant.

Dies entzog Infrastruktur- und Industrieprogrammen effektiv Liquidität, also jenen Bereichen, die typischerweise das Wirtschaftswachstum ankurbeln, und lenkte sie stattdessen in die Schließung finanzieller Lücken.

Dieses Muster steht im Gegensatz zum letzten großen Überausgabenereignis Chinas im Jahr 2018, während der ersten Runde von Maßnahmen im Handelskrieg unter US-Präsident Donald Trump.

Diesmal wird der Wechsel der Ausgabenprioritäten durch innenpolitische Ziele vorangetrieben, darunter Barzahlungen an Familien im Rahmen von Bemühungen, die Geburtenrate zu erhöhen.

Auf der Einnahmenseite stiegen die Einkommensteuereinnahmen um 11,5 % – der stärkste Anstieg seit 2021 –, da chinesische Behörden die Durchsetzung verschärften, insbesondere bei nicht deklarierten Vermögenswerten im Ausland und bisher unbesteuerten Einkommensquellen.

Letzte Jahr wurden zudem mehrere Steuervorteile gestrichen, was dazu beitrug, schwächere Einnahmequellen aus dem Unternehmens- oder Handelssektor auszugleichen.

Zum Zeitpunkt des Drucks liegt der Kurs bei 103,81 US-Dollar, immer noch 10,6% unter dem Tageshoch. Das ist der steilste Einzeltagseinbruch seit über einem Jahr. Februar-Silber-Futures an der NYMEX wurden ebenfalls hart getroffen und verloren 10%.

Gold folgte dicht dahinter. Der Spot-Goldpreis verlor 5,7% und erreichte 4.936 US-Dollar, nachdem er zuvor bereits um bis zu 7% gefallen war. Gold-Futures für den nächsten Monat sanken im New Yorker Handel um 3,4%. Damit liegt Gold knapp über dem Tiefstand der gestrigen Sitzung, und der Gesamtrückgang seit Mittwoch beläuft sich auf fast 600 US-Dollar pro Unze.

Dieser Ausverkauf blieb nicht auf Edelmetalle beschränkt. Platin verlor mehr als 10%, Palladium fast 8%. Der Schock breitet sich auf assets aus, die mit Edelmetallen verbunden sind, und trifft auch Aktien.

Fresnillo, der weltweit größte Silberproduzent, verlor bis zur Mittagspause in London 4%. Endeavour Silver lag im US-Vorhandel um 9% im Minus, während Coeur Mining um 8% fiel. Im ETF-Bereich stand ProShares Ultra Silver zuletzt 22% niedriger, und der iShares Silver Trust ETF sank um 11,2%.

Dies folgt direkt auf einen historischen Aufschwung: Im Jahr 2025 kletterte Silber um 150% und Gold um 65%. Diese Rallyes zogen sich bis Anfang 2026 fort, wobei Silber seitenwärts um weitere 45% im laufenden Jahr zulegte und Gold um 19%. Doch nach dem heutigen Ausverkauf stehen diese Jahresgewinne unter Druck.

Krypto-bezogene Aktien zeigten ein wildes Bild, während der breitere Markt unter Druck blieb. Der S&P 500 fiel um 0,3%, der Nasdaq verlor 0,5% und der Dow Jones verzeichnete einen Rückgang von 177 Punkten (–0,4%), was einen schwierigen Hintergrund für alles risikobehaftete schuf.

Unter den großen Namen fiel MercadoLibre um 2,31% auf 2.166,82 USD, Coinbase rutschte um 0,95% auf 197,28 USD und PayPal sank um 1,18% auf 52,48 USD.

Circle verlor 3,69% auf 65,06 USD, und Galaxy Digital büßte 3,94% auf 28,78 USD ein. Robinhood stach hervor mit einem Anstieg von 2,16% auf 103,42 USD – eine der wenigen grünen Lichter unter den kryptobezogenen Wertpapieren.

Bitcoin-lastige Unternehmen schwächelten. Strategy lag bei 143,20 USD stabil und hielt sich nach einem schwierigen Jahr gerade noch so, während Block um 1,74 % auf 61,13 USD fiel.

IREN verlor 5,9 %, Cipher Mining sank um 5,42 %, Riot Platforms büßte 5,42 % ein und TeraWulf rutschte um 6,4 %. Hut 8 legte 4,96 % zurück, Core Scientific fiel um 1,59 % und CleanSpark verlor 1,79 %, da die Miner der Bewegung von Bitcoin zurück Richtung 80.000 USD folgten.

Auch kleinere Minenunternehmen und Krypto-Spieler standen unter Druck: Bitmine verlor 3,73 %, Bitfarms rutschte um 0,82 %, Bit Digital fiel um 2,61 % und Canaan büßte 1,27 % ein.

MARA verlor 1,17 %, während Argo Blockchain um 3,24 % sank. Die Liquidität war bei vielen Microcaps dünn, wobei einige Titel kaum gehandelt wurden.

Einige Aktien schafften es, dem Trend zu trotzen: GameStop kletterte um 4,3 %, Nexon stürzte um 11,31 % ab und Kulr fiel um 6,17 % – ein deutliches Zeichen dafür, wie zersplittert die Kursbewegungen mittlerweile sind.

Gold wurde schnell getroffen: Die Futures verloren innerhalb von zwei Stunden 300 USD pro Unze, durchbrachen geradewegs die 5.200-US-Dollar-Marke und landeten nahe 5.100 USD. Das Tempo des Absturzes ist entscheidend.

Die Volatilität bei Gold hat nun wieder das Niveau von 2008 erreicht – ein klares Zeichen dafür, dass dies keine ruhige Korrektur ist. Es handelt sich um erzwungene Verkäufe in großem Stil.

Krypto folgte dem gleichen Drehbuch. Bitcoin sank um 6,25 % auf 80.477 $, das Spot-Volumen lag bei 58,53 Milliarden $ und die gesamte Marktkapitalisierung betrug 1,65 Billionen $.

Die Derivateaktivität sprang an: 110,52 Milliarden $ wurden gehandelt, und 770,71 Millionen $ an Liquidationen häuften sich. Der Druck hielt jedoch nicht nur dort an.

Ethereum fiel um 7,20 % auf 2.736 $, mit einem Spot-Volumen von 34,41 Milliarden $ und 416,44 Millionen $ an Liquidationen. Solana verlor 7,09 % und notierte bei 114 $, XRP fiel um 6,87 % auf 1,74 $, und BNB rutschte um 5,80 % auf 845 $. HYPE erlitt den stärksten Rückgang mit minus 8,54 % auf 28,99 $, während DOGE um 6,47 % auf 0,114 $ nachgab.

US-Aktien-Futures waren bereits im Sinkflug, als sich dies abspielte. Die S&P-500-Futures fielen um 0,3 %, die Nasdaq-100-Futures verloren 0,3 %, und die Dow-Futures sanken um 139 Punkte (ebenfalls 0,3 %), nachdem Aktien eine zweite Verlustsession in Folge verbucht hatten. Risiko wird überall gleichzeitig verkauft, und der Markt bewegt sich rasend schnell.
