Capcom revealed on Thursday its Monster Hunter Wilds special collaboration event with its own fighting game, Street Fighter 6. According to the company, the layered armor will drop on May 28.
Fans anticipated the collaboration following a tease during Monster Hunter Wilds’ first title update showcase. Speculation of the upcoming partnership reignited earlier this week after the game’s X account shared a logo that closely mirrored Street Fighter 6’s art style.

The video game company said the event will introduce a brand-new side mission called Ultimate Strength. Capcom revealed that the mission could be completed to receive special collab rewards, including a free Akuma full armor set and layered equipment based on the Street Fighter character.
The new collaboration adds a twist to Monster Hunter Wilds’ combat by introducing some of Street Fighter’s best special moves, including the Gou Hadoken, Tatsumaki Senpukyaku, and Gou Shoryuken. The company’s trailer shows that Akuma can unleash a rapid series of melee combos powerful enough to take down tough monsters.
The firm acknowledged that equipping either set allows players to use Akuma’s unique items and gestures to perform his fighting moves. According to Capcom, Akuma’s hand-to-hand combat damage is tied to the player’s weapon and equipment setup in Monster Hunter Wilds.
The company explained in a post on its website that the full armor set boosts attack power more compared to the full layered armor set. Assisted Combos and other actions will also gain stun properties, while the Drive Impact action will gain an offset effect.
Completing the other event arena quests, Demonic Strength and True Strength, will also result in additional rewards like the Blanka-chan Palico full armor set and layered equipment. Completing them will also add rewards, including a Hunter Profile background, nameplate, and pose.
Capcom noted that players must be Hunter Rank 21 or higher to take on the side mission, which can be initiated by talking to Quinn, the Vespare Unit Handler, at the Oilwell Basin Base Camp. The company also acknowledged that the collaboration will be a permanent addition to the game, so there’s no need to fear missing out.
Monster Hunter Wild unveils new Cammy and Chun-Li skins
The video game developer highlighted that additional paid downloadable content (DLC) inspired by Street Fighter 6 will also be available from May 28. The DLCs will include Chun-Li and Cammy outfits for Alma, a sticker set, and a gesture pack.
Alongside Akuma, Cammy, and Chun-Li, Blanka-Chan, Blanka’s iconic doll, will be included in the upcoming update. The outfit will differ from the other three skins since it will be added as one of Monster Hunter Wild’s Polico armor sets.Â
The game will also allow players to get a new Blanka-Chan pendant, a set of Street Fighter–themed stickers, and Hodaken, Shoryuken, and Tatsumaki Senpu-kyaku gestures. The firm said these gestures will have attack properties, allowing players to use them in combat.
