Bybit adds USD deposits through OpenPayd, cutting conversion steps for traders

- Bybit now supports USD deposits via a new integration with OpenPayd, letting eligible users fund accounts and trade USD pairs without additional currency conversion.
- The setup uses a single API connection to global payment rails, including virtual IBANs and USD SWIFT with FX capabilities, serving both institutional settlement and retail deposits/withdrawals.
- Users pay a flat $11 deposit fee regardless of transaction size, and gain faster funding, direct USD pair trading, and access to global liquidity markets.
Bybit, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, announced that USD deposit is now supported through OpenPayd, a leading provider of financial infrastructure bridging traditional fiat banking and crypto rails.
The integration gives eligible users a new streamlined way to fund their Bybit accounts in USD and access USD trading pairs without additional currency conversion.
What the integration enables
Through a single API integration with OpenPayd, Bybit can access global payment rails via virtual IBANs, including USD SWIFT with foreign exchange capabilities supported in one unified platform. This supports both institutional settlement and retail deposits and withdrawals, giving Bybit a consistent and compliant way to collect, convert and settle funds globally.
“Fiat access remains a critical part of the crypto experience, and improving the connection between traditional banking and digital assets is key to broader adoption. Our integration with OpenPayd gives eligible users a more direct way to fund their Bybit accounts in USD and access global crypto liquidity, while providing the reliable infrastructure needed for both retail and institutional use. This is another step toward making moving between fiat and crypto as seamless as possible,” said Victoria Kilikyan, Bybit’s Deputy Head of Fiat.
Lux Thiagarajah, Chief Commercial Officer at OpenPayd, added: “Bybit operates at an impressive scale, where it becomes increasingly important that moving between fiat and digital assets is supported by financial infrastructure that can keep pace. Supporting both institutional settlement and customer on/off-ramping requires accounts, global payment rails and FX to work together, rather than as fragmented functions. By bringing these capabilities into a single infrastructure layer, we’re proud to support Bybit in managing increasingly complex money flows efficiently as it continues to operate at global scale.”
How Bybit users can deposit USD
Eligible users can now deposit USD by navigating to Assets, selecting “Make a Fiat Deposit,” and choosing USD as the deposit currency with SWIFT as the payment method. The system generates bank transfer details, including the beneficiary, account number, and reference code, for users to complete the transfer from a business bank account. Once the transfer is confirmed, funds appear in the user’s USD balance.
Key benefits for eligible users
For eligible users, the integration unlocks a faster, more direct path to USD liquidity:
- Flat deposit fee: A flat $11 fee applies per transaction, regardless of deposit amount, offering cost predictability for users moving larger sums compared with percentage-based fee structures.
- Direct USD pair trading: Users can trade USD pairs directly on Bybit, avoiding the additional step and conversion costs before trading.
- Faster funding: The integration streamlines both USD deposits and withdrawals, reducing the time between initiating a transfer and having funds available for trading.
- Global liquidity access: USD funding gives eligible users access to global liquidity markets, supporting more efficient trade execution.
- Institutional-grade infrastructure: The feature is powered by OpenPayd, a regulated payment infrastructure provider, giving eligible users a compliant and secure channel for fiat funding.
