In this post:

As Australia erupts in flames cryptocurrency giant Binance pledges to contribute BNB donations worth one million US dollars ($1 million) to aid the victims of this fire-ravaged country, according to the official blog post dated 7th January 2020.

Fact check – most crypto companies, have not shied away from making crypto donations, be it large or small, time and again. We have many examples to prove that it is true. Crypto donations go a long way in helping the people in need, and organizations like Binance believe in the real-world uses of crypto through a meaningful impact on the community and offering benefits to the world.

Recently, it was TRON founder Justin Sun who wholeheartedly extended a helping hand to the young climate activist, Greta Thunberg, by donating one million US dollars ($1 million) to her work. One of the most intense and disastrous hurricanes to have hit the idyllic coasts of Bahamas, Hurricane Dorian, also received one million US dollars ($1 million) crypto donation from Tether last September. In fact, UNICEF launched a global cryptocurrency fund in October in a bid to bring together the global crypto community in bettering the lives of underprivileged children.

Binance steps forward with $1m BNB donations

Now, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, Binance, is stepping forward to aid the victims of Australia’s catastrophic bushfires that have killed at least twenty five people, five hundred million animals and destroyed over two thousand buildings so far.

The Binance Charity Foundation will make BNB donations worth one million US dollars ($1 million) to the non-profit organization called Australia Bushfire Donations. The funds will be directly used to curtail the aftermath of the devastating bushfires and help in restoration activities.

Keep the donations coming, Binance CEO

Binance CEO, Changpeng Zhao, commented on the deeply saddening situation in Australia after massive and furious fires swept through the country and the severe damages it has caused in the form of lives of people, animals, properties, and ecology. I feel that our contribution to Australia Bushfire Donations can make a substantial impact in preventing further destruction from fires. Also, we are calling out the entire crypto community to come forward and help the country recover from this calamity as soon as possible.

So far, the Binance Charity Platform has managed to raise over one million US dollars ($1 million) through thirteen BNB donations. If you are among those interested in contributing can donate using Binance Coin by signing up on the platform, which is entirely decentralized and transparent.
