Binance Academy, Pakistan’s Ministry of IT and Telecom, launch a blockchain educational initiative

Today, the Ministry of IT of Pakistan, Binance Academy, and Telecom unveiled an educational partnership. Binance Academy said the partnership would empower more than 80,000 students and 300 educators. The national educational program would benefit 20 universities in Pakistan. 

Binance Academy, Pakistan’s Ministry of IT and Telecom, announced an educational partnership to promote blockchain knowledge. According to Binance Academy, the initiative would offer customized blockchain education support for educators and professors. The tutors would then empower students across the leading universities in Pakistan. 

Binance Academy reveals the purpose of the program

Binance Academy revealed it has empowered more than 3,000 students across 13 universities based in three provinces in Pakistan since 2022. The blockchain and cryptocurrency education platform revealed that it equipped the students with market-ready Web 3.0 skills through its training programs. According to Binance Academy, the main aim of the national educational program would be to build a great pipeline of blockchain talent skilled to provide solutions in local and global technology ecosystems.

The blockchain and cryptocurrency education platform revealed the partnership would build upon the efforts of the Global University Outreach Program (GUOP), which was unveiled through a partnership between the Blockchain & AI Technology Center (BAITC) and the Binance Academy. The blockchain and cryptocurrency education platform said GUOP aimed to integrate blockchain education into the curricula of universities globally. Binance Academy added that GUOP aimed to advance human capital through industry partnerships, open education initiatives, and professional certifications. 

MEASA Head of Growth and Operations at Binance, Bader Al Kalooti, said the partnership with the Ministry of IT and Telecom marked an important step towards building a skilled workforce ready to foster growth and promote innovation in the digital economy. 

Pakistan’s Ministry of IT welcomes the national educational program 

Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Pakistan’s Minister of IT and Telecom, expressed support for the national educational initiative. Khawaja stated that the program would equip students with cutting-edge knowledge, which would help them shape the future of the country’s digital economy. The Minister added that the educational initiative would also help strengthen the nation’s presence in the global tech landscape. 

“In line with the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for a digitally empowered Pakistan, this partnership marks an important milestone in the country’s digital transformation. It contributes to economic growth and positions Pakistan as a global source of skilled blockchain talent.” 

  • Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja is the minister of IT and telecom in Pakistan. 

According to the Minister, the partnership underscored Binance Academy’s commitment to collaborating with the Pakistan government to create a secure and innovative environment for the adoption of blockchain. Binance’s decision to support the education of future leaders would contribute to a well-regulated and consumer-focused digital economy, enhancing the country’s global digital standing.
