- AMC Theatre set to begin accepting SHiba Inu payment.
- CEO says they also plan to offer NFT for blockbuster movies soon.
- Analyst says Shiba inu may begin another leg up soon.
Giant movie theater chain AMC theatre has said that it is adding popular meme coin Shiba Inu to its list of cryptocurrency payment options.
AMC theatre CEO Adam Aron announced this to continue with its pro-digital asset approach after it began earlier this year, allowing its customers to buy certain goods with BTC, ETH, LTC, and BCH.
Weeks after that, the theatre joined the meme coin frenzy and added DOGE to the list of coin it receives before Aron took to Twitter to ask whether AMC should do the same with the self-proclaimed DOGE-killer – Shiba Inu.
More crypto plans AMC theatre has
During the company’s shareholders meeting this week, the CEO revealed that AMC is now examining how it can evolve the way that it accepts crypto, including potentially launching its own and partnering with theaters on offering NFTs for blockbuster film premieres.
“I can confirm today that we have been exploring with third parties over the past few months both how we can accept cryptocurrency and if it is feasible for AMC to consider even launching our own cryptocurrency,” Aron said. “Similarly, I can confirm to you today that we are now in conversation with multiple major Hollywood studios about the concept of joint venturing commemorative NFTs related to major film titles that show in our theaters.”
Shiba to surge on AMC news?
Following Aron’s announcement about AMC Theatre and SHIBA, Twitter has been abuzz about the news. Shiba Inu’s social and market activity indicates a bullish outlook as the meme coin prepares for recovery.
Experts have criticized the centralized nature of SHIB, where ten wallets hold 72 percent of the circulating SHIB supply. Mark Cullen, a cryptocurrency analyst, and trader has evaluated the SHIB price trend and considers the meme coin likely to bounce for another leg up.
