Today, AMC appears to expand into the crypto market once again, considering including a new token on its list. Adam Aron, executive director of the television and cinemas chain, wrote a tweet saying users can obtain Gift Cards with cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum, Bitcoin, Dogecoin, and Litecoin. Along with the tweet, Aron questioned whether he should add SHIB to the list, where users eventually responded with a yes.
Weeks ago, Aron also made a similar tweet but focusing on Dogecoin where even the Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, gave his opinion. According to announcements from the chain, Dogecoin would be implemented next year as a payment method for Gift Cards, but apparently, it is already in operation.
Shiba Inu leaves Dogecoin behind
According to figures from the crypto tracking platform CoinMarketCap, the Shiba Inu token has overtaken Dogecoin among the most used cryptocurrencies. SHIB, ranked No. 20 last week, now comes in at No. 9 between DOT and above Dogecoin.
The token is trading at $0.00007167, with a rise of 159.52 percent from its price in the last week. The Shiba Inu capitalization reaches $40,022,624,142.
AMC seems to want to get involved with the token by using it as a payment method. SHIB has gone through a bullish week in which it might hit new all-time highs in its price. This streak could be driven by the Elon Musk opinions or Jason Derulo, who recently revealed that he owned the token in his portfolio.
In the next few days, AMC could officially announce that it accepts Shiba Inu in its company, which would bring a new rise in the crypto price. For now, the television network is accepting four cryptocurrencies that are used around the world, starting with Bitcoin, which trades at $62,854 today.
