Efficiency and accuracy in screening

Crucially, the integration of AI did not prolong the duration of the colonoscopy nor increase the incidence of false positives. Polyps identified with AI assistance were found to be of similar risk levels as those detected conventionally. Additionally, the AI system did not compromise the efficiency of the procedure, maintaining a streamlined process while augmenting detection rates.

Professor and Gastroenterologist Peter Siersema underscores the potential future benefits of AI-enabled colonoscopies.
