TL;DR

TL; DR Breakdown

  • Tom Brady, one of America’s most famous athletes, is investing in Bitcoin.
  • Brady is rewarding Bucs fan Byron Kennedy with a bitcoin for returning his legendary 600th touchdown pass.

Tom Brady, one of America’s most famous athletes, is investing in cryptocurrency. When asked about his investment strategy during an interview with Bloomberg, he said he is “a big believer of crypto” but didn’t share details.

The Tampa Bay Buccs quarterback is making waves in the crypto space. He recently launched an NFT platform and switched his profile icon to a Bitcoin laser eyes meme after that.

“It’s really a great choice to get into this talk,” said Brady, “as I’m such an enthusiast for crypto and where things are going in this world.”

Tom Brady gifts Bitcoin to a fan

Although Tom didn’t specify which cryptocurrency he owns, pointers are showing he owns Bitcoins. Right from his Twitter profile pic with lasers to him gifting a Buccs fan 1 Bitcoin.

Tom Brady is rewarding Bucs fan Byron Kennedy with a bitcoin for returning his legendary 600th touchdown pass.

Kennedy was in the end zone when Brady threw his touchdown pass. But wide receiver Mike Evans didn’t realize and tossed the ball to Kennedy. The team later negotiated to have the ball back.

Before the Monday night football appearance, Brady made the Bitcoin announcement, insisting he would ensure Kenedy receives the gift.

Brady added Bitcoin laser eye

In May, Tom Brady added another layer to his already stellar reputation with the crypto Twitter community. He did this through an eyelash-raising cyberpunk stare. At the same time, there were rumours that he had bought Bitcoin and the laser eye was a confirmation.

After an interview by the Blockworks co-founder, Brady moved to rid himself of any Bitcoin rumour. He did this in an informative and witty manner on Twitter. He placed a new profile picture that includes laser eyes.

To confirm Brady’s involvement with bitcoin, former Coinbase CTO Balaji Srinivasan commented.

“When it comes to the world’s most important people, Bitcoin doesn’t have any weaknesses. It has mayors, actors, senators, congressmen and billionaires. And now, the greatest quarterback in America is laser-eyed. We only need first laser eyed president and first laser-eyed central bank governor.”

The launch of Autograph, an NFT platform, followed. With the launch of the NFT platform, Brady created a way for some big names in sports and entertainment to create digital collectibles.

“Autograph was to gather the world’s most iconic figures and brands, alongside best in class digital artists. Then ideate for new NFTs and create ground breaking experiences that are sure to capture fans’ attention.”

Despite all these unfoldings, it is not clear how many Bitcoins Brady has. He has never made his Bitcoin portfolio public—only his interest.
