What is Coinbase?

Coinbase is a cryptocurrency exchange platform that allows you to trade, buy and sell cryptocoins. It also acts as storage for your crypto assets. Brian Armstrong and Fred Ehrsam started Coinbase in 2012 in the U.S. Today, Coinbase is one of the largest cryptocurrency exchange platforms globally, with more than 56 million users. The exchange is available in more than 100 countries today.

With a straightforward interface, the Coinbase app is easy to use. The moment you log in to your dashboard, you can do a whole lot of things. You can transact, store, exchange your crypto assets. You will need fiat currency to buy crypto coins on Coinbase. Note that Coinbase does not charge if you store your crypto. It also does not charge if you want to transfer your coins to a different wallet; however, you will be charged on each transaction.

How to find your Coinbase wallet address

Finding your Coinbase wallet address can be done using either the mobile app or getting it through the official website. Note that we expect that if you find your Coinbase wallet address, you already have a Coinbase account set up on the Coinbase app.

Finding your Coinbase wallet address using the Coinbase mobile app

Login to your Coinbase account

You first need to log in to your Coinbase account by entering your credentials (username and password). Then, look for the double icon and tap it to continue. By following the prompt on the Coinbase mobile app, you cannot go wrong.

Receive funds

After tapping the double arrow icon, a screen with many options like sell, receive, and convert will appear. The screen allows you to perform many transactions like selling your crypto assets, receiving them, and swapping them. Tap on receive and continue.

Select the asset you want to receive

The moment you click on receive, a screen pops up that shows the different kinds of crypto assets Coinbase supports. You will look for the name of the cryptocoin you want to receive and click on it. It is important to know the name of the coin you want to find the address on because you will probably just be sent the wrong coin without it, and it won’t reflect in your wallet.

Copy the cryptocurrency wallet address

The moment you click on the crypto wallet address you want to receive the coin, it can be a Bitcoin address, Ethereum address, or any available wallet address; your wallet will create a unique key. All you have to do is copy the wallet address and send it to the person meant to send you the crypto asset.

Finding your Coinbase wallet address on the desktop

If you use a P.C. or a Desktop computer and you use a Coinbase account primarily on them, you can find any of your Coinbase wallet addresses by taking the following steps;

Open the Coinbase Website

Before making any transaction, you need to open the Coinbase website on your web browser. You can do that here.

Log in to your dashboard

The moment you click the above link, it will take you to the coinbase sign-in page, where you enter your credentials (your email and password).

You can check the “keep me signed into this computer” box if the computer is yours; if not, you are advised not to for security reasons.

If your 2-factored authentication is turned on (as it should), an engine will send a 7-digit pin to the number you used in registering; you enter it and click verify.

Checking the box below verify is entirely up to you. It depends on how secure you feel your account is. I would not recommend you check it, though.

Locate the “Send/Receive” button

When you log in to your Coinbase account, you are taken to your dashboard. At the top right corner of your dashboard, there is a “Buy/Sell” and “Send/Receive” button. It is located directly beside your profile button.

Click on the Send/Receive button

Clicking on the “Send/Receive” button shows a pop-up page that is split into two. On the page, you can either send or receive. Our main focus is the receive. When the pop-up comes up, you can copy the Bitcoin address shown on your P.C. or share the Q.R. code if you want to receive Bitcoin.

If it is not the Bitcoin wallet address you want to generate, you can change it by clicking on the asset as shown above. Select the asset you want to receive and copy the wallet address.

Conclusion

Regardless of the steps taken, it is possible to send the wrong wallet address still; this is why it is important to always have a test transaction or deposit before sending the main thing. That way, you can reduce losses in a transaction. Other than that, you can easily receive funds by following the steps mentioned above.
