Han Chang-joon was deported to South Korea following falsified travel documents charges

Former CFO of Terraform Labs, Han Chang-joon, has been extradited to South Korea by Montenegrin authorities after facing charges related to falsified travel documents alongside Terra co-founder Do Kwon. 

The extradition follows their arrest in March 2023 and subsequent sentencing to four months in prison by a Montenegro court. Both individuals have remained in custody, with both the U.S. and South Korea seeking to transfer Kwon to their respective jurisdictions to face charges concerning the collapse of the multibillion-dollar crypto enterprise Terraform Labs in May 2022.

Extradition to South Korea

According to an official notice on Monday, Han Chang-joon, the former CFO of Terraform Labs, has been extradited to South Korea by Montenegrin authorities. This development comes after Han and Terra co-founder Do Kwon were arrested in March 2023 for attempting to travel with falsified documents. 

Subsequently, a Montenegro court sentenced them to four months in prison. Both individuals have remained in custody while the country determined where to deport them.
