Elon Musk confessed in the Joe Rogan Experience podcast that he was one of the top 20 players on Diablo 4 leaderboards around the world. He is currently ranked 20th on the Helltides leaderboards specifically.
Joe Rogan inquired Musk on his podcast if he was “in the top 20 world, in Diablo?”. After thinking about it for a moment, Musk admitted that he is not only in the top 20 on Diablo 4 world’s leaderboard but he is also one of the only two Americans on it.
Apart from Musk, the other American player has the username “Resistance” who is currently at no.1 spot.
This specific leaderboard is the one that is hosted within Helltides. Here the players submit their best time in extreme speed run-styled challenges in the difficult endgame “Pit” dungeon.

Musk’s recent best time has been 2:45 with the max tier of difficulty run through in the Pit. This has ranked him as the 20th player. Although he was playing with the most powerful class, Spritborn doesn’t mean he was the only one at advantage. The reason for this is that almost the top 400 players were playing Spiritborn as well.
Under Musk, on the 21st rank is a Taiwanese player with a difference of just a second. This difference points towards one more thing.
There could be many other players better than Elon Musk in Diablo 4
Since Helltides is a tool that evaluates the leaderboard from the submitted entries by the users, there is a possibility that it is not the ultimate calculation of the best players. The reason for this is that this leaderboard has currently 705 entries while Diablo 4 has thousands of players.
Even though Musk has earned an achievement, there could be many other players who haven’t submitted their best time but are way better than him.
Also the other American on the first rank in the leaderboard is timed at 1:59. This means Musk needs to work hard on his performance to beat that.
Elon Musk reclaimed being the all-time great in Quake as well
Last year, Elon Musk claimed to be the best Quake player. The Quake’s real best player, Dennis “Thresh” Fong, countered his claim. He came out and said that although Musk is an OG he “wasn’t very good”.
In Rogan’s latest episode, Musk has again made the same claim about his greatness in Quake, regardless of Fong’s comments.
Elon Musk does seem to do better in Diablo 4 than he did in Elden Ring or Quake. He also has an alternative account on X with the name cyb3rgam3r420 where he shares his Diablo 4 streams currently.
He also restated the value of games for him in Rogan’s podcast. He said that gaming for him “has a calming effect, it sort of chills down.” Recently he also spoke up for gamers and demanded to “make games great again” on his X account.
