Ripple CTO David Schwartz stated that Ripple vs XRP and the XRP community have had concerns about the confusion that the token often elicits. In this instance, however, there are wide differences between the two sources that lead many people to get confused and assume that they are one. Ripple CTO claims that this misconception is among the reasons for people assuming the two entities are, which lasted for a long time, is still in existence.
Eliminating XRP and Ripple’s myths
Bill Morgan, a local patriot and lawyer became a star of this week when his case taken on an Australian Cryptocurrency Convention website was reported he found the XRP was listed wrong as Ripple. These exchanges led to more intervention of the participants to name on this two platforms.
David Schwartz, an important person who had influence on the emergence of clarified that the naming decisions were made at a time when concepts like ICOs and private blockchains were not yet conceived. He emphasized that the intention was never to create confusion, and efforts were made to differentiate between XRP and Ripple.
Historical evolution
The reason to this controversy could be traced all the way to when the XRP protocol and Ripple and network were both named Ripple by the board decision. He however, opposed the decisions and made them well understood to all that his thoughts were negative about the results already forecasted which might not be good.
The heritage of XRP and Ripple dates back to “ripples” nomenclature and came to be latter influenced by the global transformation of the platform to what it is known nowadays. During the course of time,the entities diverged.
