TL;DR

  • Coinbase is set to ‘phase out’ its pro version services.
  • The new collection of functionalities will be introduced under a single unified platform.

According to a detailed blog post shared on Wednesday, by the close of this year, the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase will stop offering its Coinbase pro version of services.

The exchange added that in order to make crypto transactions easier for the general public, it will be substituting its pro version by offering a Developed and advanced trade option on Coinbase.com.

According to the blog, all of pro services are currently being consolidated onto a single platform. The exchange expanded its plans to discontinue its pro service version and add an Advanced Trade option to the Coinbase app to give consumers access to a variety of trader-friendly services in one convenient location.

The platform went on to say that one of the factors that drove it to shut down its pro section was the ongoing “friction and overlapping of features.”

“To resolve this friction and offer customers the best of both worlds, we have rebuilt the full Coinbase Pro advanced trading experience within the Coinbase mobile app and Coinbase.com. As we continue to add more features to Advanced Trade on Coinbase, we will sunset Pro version later this year.”

Coinbase new feature

The new feature is being made available as a replacement, which is expected to offer comparable benefits but with superior functionality. According to the article, the new tool will provide users with “in-depth technical analysis, powerful real-time order books, and charting powered by TradingView” to allow them more thoroughly explore the cryptocurrency markets.

Unlike its pro version, which required customers to go back and forth while utilizing different services on the platform, the new collection of functionalities will be introduced under a single unified platform.

Additionally, “mobile stop-limit orders, additional charting and order form updates, and complete REST API & WebSocket support” are just a few of the upcoming capabilities that the exchange will be introducing in the Advanced Trade functionality.

According to the blog, the exchange will keep adding new features to Advanced Trade, which will eventually act as a hub for consumers to learn the complex intricacies of the cryptocurrency world.

It is worth noting that according to Company’s President and COO Emilie Choi, the new modifications would not have an impact on the platform’s current services and prices but will instead help increase its usefulness and value.
