Binance Labs reshapes strategy for 2025 amid rebranding and CZ’s return

Binance Labs is preparing for a rebrand in 2025, following its split from the main exchange. Changpeng Zhao is also set to take a more active role, personally engaging with investment projects in 2025.
The venture capital firm has stated that it will prioritize necessities for long-term impact as it moves into 2025, leaning more towards crypto, AI, and biotech.
Binance Labs will build on more AI, blockchain, and biotech projects in 2025
Binance Labs has announced plans to reconfigure its brand in 2025. In a series of posts on X on December 31, the venture capital firm clarified that it’s seeking long-term impact moving into 2025 and beyond. It also emphasized its commitment to supporting founders who believe in their long-term vision.
Moreover, the firm has decided to focus more on crypto, artificial intelligence, and biotech in 2025, aiming to have innovations in these fields. As they push through with their restructuring process, they foresee improvement in their least-performing sectors, such as gaming, ZK technologies, and privacy solutions.
Additionally, the firm is looking to secure more secondary liquid deals, OTC aside from primary market deals. They emphasized that they are “chain-agnostic” and hence will invest across all stages of a deal.
They also expect DeSci, RWAs/Stablecoins, and AI agents to perform better in 2025.
To Binance Labs 2025 will be a year of innovation and development especially since it’s the year of the wood snake. The wood element represents growth and creativity, hinting at positive development for the company.
The incoming Trump administration has also made the company optimistic about a far more friendlier crypto environment, believing it will augment investor and institutional interest in virtual assets.
Changpeng Zhao will engage with investment projects at Binance Labs
Binance Labs said it will seek projects that have real-world applications, strong teams, well-defined roadmaps, and sustainable business models moving forward. They stated they would also maintain a diverse portfolio across Telegram, Solana, Ethereum, and major Ethereum L2s. Not to mention they will continue making investments in Berachain, Monad, Initia, Stacks, Celestia, and Bittensor, with roughly 20% of their investment funds emanating from their MVB program.
Changpeng Zhao is also expected to return to the crypto space, engaging with the company’s investment projects on a personal level, and maintaining interactions with existing and new founders.
Zhao had previously predicted bullish results for Bitcoin and multiple other crypto assets in 2025, claiming increased adoption and technological advances will be the key drivers of future growth.
