Digital assets have now attained mainstream attention, with traders looking for ways to amass more assets by the day. This is thanks to its mammoth rise in the market, bringing in profits for traders. But while the assets are winning on the financial level, they also see wins in investment adoption. In a recent statement, AMC Theatre has announced that it will begin to accept crypto payments.
Users can choose between four listed digital assets
According to the CEO of AMC Theater, Adam Aron, anybody who intends to pay via the crypto payment option can pay using four top digital assets. The assets mentioned in the statement include Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, and Bitcoin Cash. In the words of Aron, 14% of its online payments have been made using one or more of the newly enlisted digital assets. Going by the announcement, users can pay using the digital assets coupled with standard modes of payments such as Apple Pay, PayPal, and Google Pay.
Aron also added that the company is presently considering high-flying meme coin, Dogecoin as the next digital asset that will be added to its crypto payment option. In a previous statement on Twitter, Aron mentioned that the company would take Dogecoin payments for tickets following an online poll that was carried out. Notably, the Twitter poll saw 140,000 people vote in favor of adding Dogecoin as a payment option on its platform.
AMC has plans to add Dogecoin to its crypto payment option
After the success of Dogecoin, Aron was forced to post a poll regarding the addition of Shiba Ainu, another meme coin that has been doing well in the market. Shiba Ainu was the star of the meme family token as it accumulated a massive market cap around the end of October to topple that of Dogecoin. This latest news is coming off the back of a previous move by the company to accept ticket payments in Bitcoin by the end of next month.
The company first announced it in August and has now expanded the list by adding the assets mentioned above. AMC has been looking to fully adopt crypto payment options on its platform after announcing that users can purchase gift cards using digital assets back in October. This new update by AMC Theatre will further drive the adoption of digital assets and push other investments into doing the same.
