Creators have two options within the “erase song” tool: either remove all claimed parts or mute audio across claimed segments. This dual functionality gives creators more flexibility in managing their content and resolving copyright claims. In a case where the AI tool fails, creators can still choose to mute the sound entirely or trim the affected segments.

YouTube upgrades tools for creators

YouTube’s recent updates show commitment to supporting creators by offering them advanced tools needed to navigate through complex copyright laws. Neal Mohan, who serves as Chief Product Officer at YouTube, acknowledged this fact via his social media post, where he further stated that they were continuously working on enhancing tools used for managing content. The application of AI technology under “erase song” forms part wider strategy aimed at improving user-friendliness within Youtube.

The new tool will be accessible to creators on desktop and mobile devices through YouTube Studio within the next few weeks. YouTube, through the AI tool, seeks to address the program’s accuracy, reducing instances where creators have had to employ other methods like muting or trimming videos to sort out issues related to copyrights.
