The World IT Show 2024, the largest information and communications technology exhibition in South Korea, started off in Seoul. According to the organizer, the exhibition will flaunt latest and state of the art technologies of local Korean and global firms.
The theme of the three-day event is “Innovation in everyday life, created by artificial intelligence (AI),” with participants from 10 countries, along with Korea will be attending the show. 446 companies along with different institutions will be displaying their products and research projects, said the Korean Ministry of Science and ICT.
Samsung and LG onboard
LG Electronics Inc. will showcase its product line-up, which is based on its new tech called “affectionate AI.” This is an on-device artificial intelligence technology, and it is said that it is capable of synchronizing and optimizing different electronics in a way that is convenient for users.
The products that LG will exhibit will also include mobility vision, for example, “Alpha 11” and “Alpha-able.” These are LG’s next generation AI processors that power organic light emitting diode televisions.
The Korean tech behemoth Samsung Electronics Co. will present its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S24, to provide visitors with a chance to get a hands on experience of the AI features the phone boasts, including real-time translation, which the phone is capable of when on a call, along with many other AI features. This is a part of the company’s strategy to present its AI platforms.
Samsung said that it will also showcase its electronic wallet service, called Samsung Wallet, along with its range of home appliance series, which now also features AI functionalities.
Tech enthusiasts to visit the World IT Show
Other mobile phone carriers, like KT Corp. and SK Telecom Co., will also be present at the event to display their AI tech based products at the exhibition.
Starting on April 17th, the exhibition will close on April 19th at the COEX Convention and Exhibition Center.
