In a report across news agencies, she mentioned this during her statement at the Bitcoin and Blockchain Summit which was held in Florida. Caster, while speaking on the second day of the Summit which took place at the Amalie Arena, Tampa said her salaries henceforth will be paid in crypto.

According to the reports gathered, the Bitcoin payments of the mayor will be overseen by Celsius Network, one of the biggest crypto heavyweights in the market.
The news spread across Twitter like wildfire after self-acclaimed Bitcoin evangelist Anthony Pompliano announced that the list of mayors choosing to receive their paychecks in the digital asset is now four. In his statement, Pompliano urged residents of the US whose mayor had not joined the train to ask them if they lean towards the asset or now.
This decision came after the mayor of Miami, Francis Suarez, announced he would receive part of his salary in Bitcoin. With that, Suarez became the first politician across the US to receive at least a portion of his salary in the digital asset. Recently, Eric Adams, mayor of New York, also announced that the first three paychecks of his tenure would be paid in the digital asset.
Bitcoin touches ATH amid wide acceptance
Francis Suarez and Adams have long been fans of crypto, with both mayors showing signs that they intend to build crypto hubs across their cities. After his election was confirmed, Adams told residents he wants the city to be known as a center of the crypto sector.
‘Things are always big across New York, and following this, I will accept Bitcoin payments for my first three paychecks as mayor of New York,’ Adams tweeted.
