Question 1

Did the Zcash Foundation create ZRC-20 or the $CASH token?

Accepted Answer

No. The Foundation said on September 21 it had no prior knowledge of ZRC-20 or $CASH, describing it as a private project rather than an official Zcash token standard or protocol feature.

Question 2

How does the ZRC-20 standard work?

Accepted Answer

A ZRC-20 token is a JSON document written into the 512-byte memo field of a shielded Zcash output, using three operations (deploy, mint, transfer); balances are computed off-chain by indexers, with no consensus change or smart contract involved, per the draft spec at docs.zrc20.io.

Question 3

What are the $CASH launch terms?

Accepted Answer

According to Bitrue's explainer, $CASH has a 21 million maximum supply and a first-come-first-served fair launch priced at 1,000 CASH for 0.005 ZEC, with anti-bot protection, only the first 18,900 transactions counting, and mint proceeds refunded after the sale minus gas fees.
