Question 1

Why did Boltz shut down its Bitcoin swap service?

Accepted Answer

Boltz said it faced a steady rise in automated, AI-assisted probing and several contained exploits, and that attackers were iterating faster than its team could find and patch the flaws, so it could not responsibly keep swaps running.

Question 2

Did anyone lose money when Boltz suspended swaps?

Accepted Answer

No. Boltz is non-custodial and never holds user funds, so it said "no user funds were ever at risk" and that any losses were the company's own.

Question 3

What other services were affected by the Boltz pause?

Accepted Answer

Bull Bitcoin warned that Lightning payments and Liquid-to-Bitcoin swaps in its wallet would fail without explanation, and Aqua Wallet said those swaps were no longer available while it searched for alternatives.
