What is ERC-8004?

ERC-8004 is an Ethereum standard that creates three onchain registries (identity, reputation, and validation) allowing autonomous AI agents to discover each other, build trust records, and verify claimed actions without relying on centralized intermediaries. 

It was proposed in August 2025 by contributors from MetaMask, the Ethereum Foundation, Google, and Coinbase.
