SURF 2026: “THE ERA OF RISING – PIONEERING INNOVATION” CREATES NEW MOMENTUM FOR DA NANG’S STARTUP AND INNOVATION ECOSYSTEM

Danang Innovation Startup Festival (SURF 2026) will officially take place on August 18–19, 2026, at the Furama International Convention Palace, Da Nang. Under the theme “The Era of Rising – Pioneering Innovation”, SURF 2026 continues to affirm its position as the largest annual event of Da Nang’s startup and innovation ecosystem. The festival serves as a convergence point for breakthrough ideas, cutting-edge technologies, investment resources, and strategic partnerships, contributing to Da Nang’s ambition of becoming a regional innovation hub.

Building on the Remarkable Success of SURF 2025

SURF 2025 left many significant milestones as it gradually strengthened Da Nang’s position on both the national and international startup and innovation map. Under the theme “Policy Launchpad – Nurturing Unicorns,” the event attracted more than 3,000 visitors, over 40 domestic and international speakers, 20 investment funds, 100 on-site exhibition booths, and 200 virtual exhibition booths, creating a vibrant networking space for startups, investors, enterprises, universities, and startup support organizations.

More than just a showcase of innovative products and technologies, SURF 2025 was marked by a series of in-depth forums on blockchain, digital assets, digital transformation, and open innovation. The event also featured numerous investment matching programs, domestic and international cooperation signing ceremonies, and the launch of the Da Nang Universities and Colleges Innovation Network. Notably, StartupBlink recognized Da Nang as Vietnam’s fastest-growing startup ecosystem in 2025, reaffirming the city’s growing attractiveness to the global innovation community.

The SURF 2025 Startup and Innovation Competition also identified outstanding projects such as LocalLife.Asia, AIVOS, Rally AI, and LotusEase, adding promising new players to Da Nang’s startup and innovation ecosystem.

Building on these achievements, SURF 2026 adopts the theme “The Era of Rising – Pioneering Innovation,” reflecting Da Nang’s aspiration to enter a new stage of development driven by science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

According to the Organizing Committee, SURF 2026 is expected to bring together hundreds of startups, technology enterprises, experts, investors, universities, research institutes, and startup support organizations from Vietnam and abroad. The event will continue to serve as an important bridge connecting government agencies, businesses, investors, and the startup community to promote technology commercialization, expand international cooperation, and attract investment resources for the innovation ecosystem.

One of the highlights of SURF 2026 is a series of internationally oriented forums, including “The Aspiration to Build a Technology Unicorn from Da Nang” and “Da Nang Reaching The World,” Seminar: “SURF Startup: Da Nang Young Builders 2026”, where experts, entrepreneurs, and investment funds will share insights on technology trends, strategies for developing technology enterprises, fundraising experience, and international market expansion.

A special highlight of the event will be the Launch of the Daegu City (South Korea) Technology and Innovation Showcase Space in Da Nang, marking a new milestone in international cooperation on innovation while creating new opportunities for technology connectivity, knowledge transfer, and business development between the two cities.

The Da Nang Innovation Startup Competition continues to be systematically organized to identify promising startup projects in a wide range of fields, including artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation, blockchain, biotechnology, environmental technology, logistics, smart tourism, education, high-tech agriculture, and many other innovation sectors. Participating teams will not only compete for awards but will also receive intensive training, pitching coaching, mentorship opportunities, and access to domestic and international investment funds.

In addition, the startup and innovation exhibition will continue to serve as a meeting point for hundreds of enterprises, startups, and startup support organizations showcasing innovative products and technology solutions. Alongside the physical exhibition, the virtual exhibition platform will remain available from July through December 2026, helping expand promotional opportunities, strengthen partner connections, and facilitate trade promotion for the startup community.

In addition to its professional activities, SURF 2026 will feature a variety of programs, including memorandum of understanding (MoU) exchange ceremonies, investment matching sessions, thematic seminars, and networking activities between startups, experts, and businesses, creating a comprehensive networking environment for the innovation ecosystem.
