Sony announced the August 2024 PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium game lineup. The lineup includes fifteen games that will be released on August 20. The catalog is centered around TimeSpillters and Sword Art online franchises.
According to Sony, the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium game catalog will be accessible to subscribers on August 20. The company highlighted that the lineup would add different genres from the two franchises. The Witcher 3:Wild Hunt is reportedly among the titles that make a comeback.
Sony reveals PlayStation Plus and Premium August game Catalog
Sony announced August’s PlayStation Plus and Premium lineup. The catalog includes ten games on PlayStation Plus and Premium and five exclusively available to Premium gamers.
The company revealed that The Witcher 3:Wild Hunt will be the catalog’s headliner, allowing players to explore Geralt’s of Rivia fantasy world and fight monsters in his quest to find Ciri. The game reportedly recorded a 95% Metacritic score after its release nine years ago.
PS5 gamers will also enjoy Cult of the Lamb. The Game involves a possessed lamb rescued by a dark god. Players are expected to build a community of worshipers to grow their power within the game.
Sony also stated that PS5 players can access WatchDogs 2 from Ubisoft in the August lineup. The open-world game involves a hacker based in San Francisco who attempts to infiltrate the city’s invasive surveillance system. During its release, the hacktivist series reported a Metacritic score of 82%.
Sony also revealed the third open-world game, Wild Hearts, in the new August catalog. Dynasty Warriors released the Monster Hunter game in 2023, and it will only be available to PlayStation 5 gamers. The game involves fighting epic creatures and earned a 79% Metacritic score during its launch.
The announcement also lists Rider 5 among the games on the PS5 August catalog. Milestone, a motorbike racer game developer, launched the game in 2023. The game involves a realistic first-person mode that improves the motorcycles’ performance.
Timesplitters and Sword’s online franchises appear on the August catalog
Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker was also part of the catalog that was revealed in the announcement. The game, released in 2018, features various characters from the Boruto series who battle it out in ninja combat.
The game involves numerous modes and is based on Naruto’s reign. The Sword Online franchise was also part of the catalog revealed in the announcement. Sony specified the Last Recollection, Alicization Lycoris, Fatal Bullet, and Hollow Realization as part of the collection available on PS4.
Sony also outlined TimeSplitters, TimeSplitters 2, and TimeSplitters: Future Perfect as the classic games available to PS Plus Premium. Eidos Interactive and EA reportedly published the TimeSplitter games developed by Free Radical Design. Gamers can also access Vacation Simulator (PSVR 2) on PS Plus Premium.
