The distribution is based on a three-tiered reward structure designed by Asimakis Reppa, former EVE Online economy director. It includes Challenger, Leaderboard, and Genesis NFT tiers.
The Challenger Tier rewards players for regularly completing daily and weekly missions. The Leaderboard Tier is for rewarding big prizes for players at higher ranks. The holders of Genesis NFT will get multipliers to increase points depending on rarity.
While players can earn points upon completing in-game missions and challenges, they’ll also have added opportunities through web missions, such as inviting friends and connecting accounts.
The free-to-play shooter game’s protagonist is a cat in a powered-up mech suit. It is one of the best-performing crypto games on the Epic Games Store and has crossed over 100,000 players in its pre-alpha demo test. It is the top wish-listed game in the store. Epic Games has put it under the spotlight as a “mobility-focused game with classes having a variety of movement options that many modern shooters simply don’t offer.”
Nyan Heroes’ playtest 4 features a new hero, game mode, and a vertical map.
The upcoming 4th Playtest event is bringing a new hero named Coco to the game. Coco is the pilot of a mech named Gizmo, which uses turrets to shoot at enemies and uses the scraps left by the enemies to strengthen its armor. Another functionality of Gizmo is creating float platforms. Moreover, the star capability of this mech is that it can transform into a giant version of itself, which throws explosives at the enemies and gives armor to allies.

In an interview, Max Fu, the game’s CEO, and Executive Producer, said, “Gizmo will shake up the meta by protecting his team and providing easier access to high ground, favoring strategic positions, and introducing new levels of protection and vertical control.”
The Playtest will introduce an additional game mode inspired by COD’s Uplink. In this fast-paced game mode, players carry and throw pufferfish-like balls into the opponents’ goal.
Fu added that game mode requires players to use distraction tricks while protecting the carrier. He said, “Unique to Nyan Heroes is the fact that the ball carrier can still shoot (but not use their ultimates) to help turn the tide of battle.”
Furthermore, there will be a new Tokyo-themed map. According to the game’s lore, the city was the last one Nyans defended against the feral robot Guardians, the villains in the game. However, the Nyans had lost the fight. Now, Nyans are training to recover the city struck by destruction.
The map is designed for vertical movements with tight spaces in which Nyans will fight. The developers say this map pushes faster gameplay as it suits the new hero and game mode.
Apart from these updates, the playtest will improve the game’s HUD, voiceover, music score, and new secondary weapons. It will also improve the text chat within the game.
