Shiba Inu (SHIB) is becoming a popular payment currency

The Shiba Inu community is more than euphoric following the price movements of the meme cryptocurrency this past week. In light of the growing attention on SHIB, the crypto has now been included as a payment currency on the crypto payment gateway, NOWPayments.

NOWPayments adds Shiba Inu for payment

In line with the disclosure on Tuesday, the crypto payment platform will equally support the two other tokens from the Shiba Inu ecosystem, which includes $LEASH and $BONE. NOWpayments support a wide range of e-commerce platforms, and by supporting these Shiba Inu tokens, the holders will be able to spend them on any platforms within its payment network and that includes Shopify and WooCommerce shops.

The development today expands the utility of SHIB, and it’s important for price growth and adoption. What’s more interesting is that part of the transaction fees will be burnt, which cumulatively removes a portion of the overall supply from circulation. 

Adding to the frenzy in the Shiba Inu market, crypto shopping platform Shopping.io also announced it’s offering a 5% discount for when users checkout with the SHIB cryptocurrency using the code “SHIBA.” Shopping.io added SHIB as a payment currency in July, which gave customers the ability to shop from Amazon, Walmart, eBay, and other popular e-commerce companies using SHIB.

Shiba Inu has seen a huge pump in price over the last seven days, and there are speculations this uptrend could last a little longer. At the current time, SHIB was trading around $0.000029; however, we explained in a recent prediction post that the price is on the verge of breaking above the $0.000030 level on the plans for SHIB non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

The development team is planning to release a Cryptopunk-like Shiba Inu NFTs, which was called “Shiboshi.” It will be a collection of 10,000 NFTs, which can only be purchased using the $LEASH token in the first 24 hours.
