Portuguese football star Christiano Ronaldo’s professional football club from Italy Juventus has launched its own crypto token to empower its four hundred million fanbases with voting rights.
The announcement was made on 3rd December 2019, in which Juventus confirmed a partnership with a sports-centric blockchain startup firm named Socios.com to launch the $JUV crypto token. With the Socio’s app, Juventus followers can now buy these tokens, earn handsome rewards, and even get the power to vote on crucial club decisions.
Ronaldo’s Juventus finds a new way to connect with fans – Crypto token
Alexandre Dreyfus, founder, and CEO of the one-of-a-kind blockchain-based Sports app confirmed the news by stating that most of Juventus’ followers reside outside of the city or the country. The concept behind these interchangeable tokens is to give them an opportunity to have some degree of influence over our decisions and is one of our fan-based initiatives to show that we value their support, Dreyfus explained.
To give an example, Juventus football club’s trademark goal celebration song at the Allianz stadium, Chelsea Dagger, is soon expected to get a replacement as the team rolled out a poll earlier this week. From many potential contenders, four were shortlisted, and they are as follows – Blur – Song 2, House of Pain – Jump Around, POD – Boom, and Blink 182 – All The Small Things.
There is only one requirement to cast your vote, and that is, you must be in possession of the newly-launched $ JUV tokens. One can either choose to procure them via the platform’s Augmented Reality option, Token Hunt, offering these tokens for free for a limited period, or sign in to Socio app and purchase them for around two US dollars ($2.2) each.
The chief revenue officer at Juventus, Giorgio Ricci, is excited about the new partnership and launch. Juventus wholeheartedly welcomes the support of Socios and is excited to be the first-ever club to be associated with them. We are continually looking for new ways to communicate with our followers around the world.
Meanwhile, Socios states that the platform has witnessed renewed interests from football clubs recently. While it looks forward to successfully carry out its six potential deals by the start of next year, it has received collaboration requests from a dozen others, Socios confirms.
