In an official press release of Oct 22 Opera Browser confirmed that it has launched support for TRON into its cryptocurrency wallet.
Undoubtedly, Opera is one of the most forward-looking browsers we have in the market today. The fact that it has not held back after integrating support for two of the largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, Bitcoin and Ethereum, and carried on with its vision to get as many people on board to experience cryptocurrencies by integrating TRON wallet support, speaks volumes about its goal to become the next-generation browser. Besides, it is the only mainstream web browser to add cryptocurrency wallet support for its users.
Opera browser opens TRON network doors to 350 million users
On Tuesday, it made another weighty announcement, which is to introduce the every-increasing TRON network to its three hundred and fifty million user base. With this initiative, users can send and receive TRX through the Opera browser and also download TRON DApps made available on the in-built DApps Store.
The decision to support the TRON network is likely to reproduce the global adoption of its decentralized applications and offer the users an opportunity to gain access to a myriad of applications that exist outside the scope of the iOS App Store and Google Play Store.
TRON network aims for a truly decentralized network
The vast TRON network boasts of applications that range from digital entertainment content to gambling and gaming. It offers high productivity through cost-effective transactions and unrestricted access to cryptocurrencies. Opera’s incorporation will further boost its acceptance rate and extend its benefits to a broader range of audiences.
Commenting on the association, Justin Sun, TRON founder and CEO of BitTorrent, remarked that Opera is one of the most influential names in the software industry. Not only are they bringing the versatile possibilities of using cryptocurrencies to millions of people around the world but also ensuring that security and privacy are not compromised. TRON, the world’s leading cryptocurrency network, is proud to be associated with the most active and popular blockchain ecosystem that is Opera, he added excitedly.
Meanwhile, the integration is also expected to benefit Sun’s other pet project – BitTorrent, the peer-to-peer file-sharing software. Although it is not yet clear what it will bring to the table but adding 350 million users to its consumer base could potentially mean significant gains to the business.
