Musk takes a dig at rival firm OpenAI

During the World Government Summit, Elon Musk didn’t hesitate to take a dig at competitor firm OpenAI. Earlier, he offered an unsolicited bid of $97.4 billion to acquire OpenAI.

He told the audience,OpenAI is meant to be open source, non-profit, and now they changed the name to closed for maximum profit AI.” According to Musk, OpenAI is “after money, next level.”

OpenAI was co-founded by Altman and Musk in 2015. However, Musk didn’t agree with the company’s for-profit direction, resulting in a long-standing feud between the two tech leaders. Altman promptly rejected Musk’s bid to acquire the company, referring to it as a tactic to slow down OpenAI.
