Monster Hunter Wilds open beta coming next week

Capcom announced an Open Beta for the players of PC, Xbox Series X and S, and PS5 next week. This reveal came out during Monster Wilds Showcase with an official trailer.

Players of PlayStation 5 with a PlayStation Plus membership will get the exclusive access period first from October 28th at 8 PM Pacific and 11 PM Eastern and for the UK October 29 at 3 am.

Moving on, the beta will open up for all the platforms on October 31st at the same moment. This includes Steam for PC players, Xbox Game Pass, or those and players without PlayStation Plus. It will be available until November 3 at 7 pm Pacific and 10 pm Eastern and for the UK on November 4 at 2 am.

Players who are creators will be able to customize the characters in the open beta completely. This customization will be transferred to the full version of the game later on.

The beta version also includes a look into the story including the hunt faceoff with the key enemy Doshaguma. Additionally, players who participate in the hunt will get a Stuffed Felyne Teddy which they can access in the full-game version by February 28th, 2025.

Along with the announcement of open beta, the trailer of Monster Hunter Wild was also revealed during the Showcase. The producer of the game Ryozo Tsijimoto details the new ecosystem with the Oilwell Basin biome, which is a home to the “Black Flame”, another monster in the game.

The trailer showcases a hazardous new biome crowded with bubbling oil pits which are named “Oilwell Basin”. The Basin is also the home to newly introduced monsters the Fanged Wyvern, Brute Wyvern, Rompopolo, and Ajarakan. Moreover, the Oilwell Basin undergoes extreme weather changes “Firesprings” as well.
