Retail Row for Fortnite, a giant in the video games industry, is now accepting payments in Monero (XMR) the cryptocurrency exclusively starting the new year.
The cryptocurrency revealed in a Tweet that Fortnite merchandising store is “exclusively accepting #Monero” as the sole crypto payment mode.

The game is home to over one hundred and twenty-five million (125m) players across the globe is worth more than fifteen billion dollars ($15 bn) given the fundings it has received.
Although players can use Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC) and Ripple (XRP) on the platform using the integrated cryptocurrency payment gateway GloBee. However, XMR now holds a unique position at a target market the has more audience than some countries have their population.
Some experts believe that Fortnite is moving from BTC to XMR owing to the attacks late last year that targeted player wallets to steal Bitcoin. These scams were orchestrated through different cheat code and fake offerings.
Monero, however, also hold a unique bad reputation having believed to be acquired by crypto jackers and scammers through crypto-jacked mining.
