Question 1

What is the Quip Virtual Machine?

Accepted Answer

It is a single constraint-based programming and execution environment from Postquant Labs that runs across quantum annealers, gate-based quantum systems, and classical hardware, with costs fixed before each job and quoted in shared compute credits.

Question 2

How does QVM pricing work?

Accepted Answer

The QVM uses a gas model where price depends on qubit space, execution time, and entanglement, with a baseline cost plus an optional tip and a maximum charge known before execution.

Question 3

How did the QVM perform against classical solvers?

Accepted Answer

In 1,930 portfolio optimization races at Quantum.Tech World, the quantum solver matched or beat the classical solver in every race, winning by a median of 2.56% where results differed by more than 0.5%, with both usually answering in 0.1 to 0.3 seconds.
