Houston Rockets goes into partnership with bitcoin renowned company NYDIG

Houston Rockets

TL; DR Breakdown

  • The Houston Rockets are partnering with NYDIG.
  • The partnership will see Rockets’ staff receive bitcoin payments.
  • NYDIG will also enjoy publicity from Houston’s social, digital, and arena platforms.

The Houston Rockets proclaimed an alliance with the New York Digital Investment Group (NYDIG) yesterday. The announcement made on 16th November stated that the company would be the team’s crypto partner. As per the agreement, NYDIG will rename some sections of the Rockets arena. Some areas of the VIP seats at the theatre will change to “Bitcoin Suites.”

Besides, NYDIG will pay the iconic sports team franchise in BTC. The arrangement will improve crypto knowledge and adoption. The deal will see payments made in BTC in the NYDIG platform.

Houston Rockets’ head of sales, Gretchen Sheirr, commented on the partnership. He said the organization is relying on advanced technology to maintain relevancy. He also noted that the coalition with NYDIG is vital. It makes the business leverage on bitcoin’s growth. Therefore, they can offer unique prizes and payment methods to their associates.

The agreement is a broader scheme of Rockets’ CEO, Tilman Fertitta. Tilman doubles as the chairperson of Landry’s Restaurant Group. A week ago, the restaurant began a BTC awards program. And as we speak, the firm is accommodating BTC payments.

NYDIG is happy with the Houston Rockets deal

The NYDIG acknowledged the agreement through a statement by Kelly Brewster. They welcomed the contract, stating that they had acquired a progressive ally. He noted the family of Fertitta and the sports franchise understood what embracing crypto means. Besides, he is sure their brands will grow further by attracting loyal bitcoin fans.

The marketer added that Rockets would make payments to the basketball staff in BTC. Besides, the partnership has exposed the town as a crypto innovation hub. He concluded by stating that the association is vital in fulfilling its pledge to avail bitcoin to everyone.

The deal will see Rockets and NYDIG work together to open up the crypto ecosystem. It will provide access, knowledge dissemination, and social development programs. At the same time, the bitcoin firm will enjoy social exposure. Houston Rockets will expose NYDIG in all its online, social, and theatre platforms.

Besides, NYDIG becomes the principal naming rights holder of the arena. The VIP area will change its signature to bitcoin suites. And will always have labeled apron signage any time Rockets have a game.

Fertitta’s interest in cryptocurrency

Recently, Laundry’s restaurant, which Tilman owns, involved NYDIG to execute bitcoin bonuses. This was a part of Laundry’s loyalty plan that targeted its club members. The deal allowed lucky clients to win bitcoin tips while eating at each of its 500 restaurants in the US. Besides, Laundry is working on a bitcoin payment system for its restaurants countrywide.

Also, Fertitta’s Post Oak Motor Cars company made a pact with NYDIG. The contract allowed clients to buy vehicles financed through loans from bitcoin. Fertitta is not strange to bitcoin since he has accepted them since 2018.
