Former 20th Century Fox CTO Hanno Basse is on the move again, this time headed to Live Planet where he will take a lead role in its blockchain operations. He is the new president of Decentralized Media Solutions at Live Planet, which uses blockchain technology for some of its media processing and distribution.
Live Planet runs the VideoCoin Network which is a video infrastructure platform operating on the blockchain. Basse is tasked with working on the VideoCoin Network’s blockchain operations which will also include some publishing and VR streaming.
Basse was the genius behind many technological advancements that are now common in daily media. Some of these include video formats such as 4K-UHD, Blu-ray and HDR. These have had a great impact on media viewers overall experience.
Blockchain solutions in film making have continued to grow closer to indispensable as organizations have also started using cryptocurrencies to fund documentary films.
Not so long ago, a state-sponsored Brazilian bank funded a documentary film after developing its own BNDES token.
The BNDES token runs on a version of ether stablecoin. A Brazilian film director and producer named Alê Abreu was a key player in the production of the documentary.
YouTubers are not going to let the blockchain bus speed off without them on board. In April this year, celebrated YouTuber PewDiePie mentioned that he plans to stream on Dlive. Dlive is a blockchain-based video platform that will offer content creators and users some rewards through Lino tokens.
Lino is a decentralized blockchain protocol while the Lino token is the crypto that is exchanged by its participants.
