Meme cryptocurrencies are gradually becoming a huge part of the crypto market. The category began with Dogecoin (DOGE) but now includes hundreds of other digital currencies, with Shiba Inu (SHIB) being the second-largest after DOGE.
Floki Inu could become a hot contender for Shiba Inu
Floki Inu (FLOKI) is another major dog-themed cryptocurrency currently making headway in this trend, and it apparently could become a big contender to Dogecoin and Shiba Inu, following its recent strategic partnerships. The team at Floki Inu has turned to the sports industry in their effort to make FLOKI a “dominant cryptocurrency.”
According to tweets on Friday, Floki Inu has secured a landmark deal with one of the biggest Indian football clubs, Kerala Blasters FC, and also a Spanish professional football club, Cádiz CF. Both football clubs will add the FLOKI logo to their jersey sleeves, thereby granting the meme-coin exposure to hundreds of millions of fans. The team at FLOKI termed this a “strategic partnership” that will help FLOKI go mainstream in both Indian and Spain.
FLOKI up over 170%
There is also an ongoing petition for Coinbase to list FLOKI on their platform, and it’s already nearing the 35,000 signature goal. So far, more than 30,000 people have signed for the token to get the recognition it deserves and get listed on the exchange.
During the time of writing, FLOKI was trading at $0.0002009, a 23.8% increase over the last 24 hours, per CoinMarketCap. The price has risen by more than 170% over the last 30 days. However, its market cap ($1.8 billion) is significantly low compared to Shiba Inu ($24 billion) and Dogecoin ($29 billion). It remains to be seen how influential these Floki Inu partnerships with the football clubs will be in exposing and driving more value to the coin.
