Fairgame$ has reportedly been delayed following the exit of the founder, Jade Raymond. The game has been delayed until spring 2026. The title recently received an external test that didn’t go well. The reason for Raymond’s departure from Haven Studios has not been revealed.
A Bloomberg report has revealed that Fairgame$ has been further delayed to 2026. The departure of Haven Studios founder Jade Raymond allegedly fueled the delay. PlayStation offered no reason for Raymond’s exit from Haven Studios but only provided a statement.
Fairgame$ got an external test, which reportedly did not go well. Some game developers at Haven Studios were concerned about the reception of Fairgame$. The company has been working on the virtual multiplayer title Fairgame$ since 2023.
PlayStation spokesperson confirms Raymond’s exit
Jade Raymond rose to fame at Ubisoft as the key producer of Assassin’s Creed. Raymond also served as the executive producer of Splinter Cell: Blacklist, AC: Bloodlines, and Assassin’s Creed 2. Raymond released her last game, The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot, in 2015, where she was the Executive Producer at Ubisoft. She was also involved in a Star Wars game named Project Ragtag, which was canceled in October 2017.
Under Raymond’s leadership, Haven Studios announced Fairgame$ in May 2023 at the PlayStation Showcase. Rumors surrounding the game’s delay surfaced in February 2025.
According to a PlayStation spokesperson, Raymond has been a great partner. She was also a visionary force in creating Haven Studios. The spokesperson praised Raymond for her leadership and contributions before wishing her success in the next chapter.
The PlayStation spokesperson noted that the firm is committed to supporting Haven Studios. The company representative announced Pierre-Francois Sapinski and Marie-Eve Danis as the new co-studio executives.
Sony faces challenges with its live service games
Haven Studios launched in 2021, with Jade Raymond announcing that she had partnered with Sony to create a new team. Raymond revealed the new team would be based in Montreal. She emphasized that the studio aimed at developing games that were a haven for players. Raymond also noted that she wanted to create a new studio that would be a haven for game developers.
In February 2022, Sony revealed its plans to launch 12 live service games before March 2026. The PlayStation maker explained that it intended to bring titles of different genres to various audiences. The firm bought game development studios as part of its expansion drive. Sony acquired Destiny developer Bungie, Haven Studios, and the now-defunct Firewalk Studios.
In 2023, Hiroki Totoki, the president of Sony, said the firm was reviewing the 12 titles it was working on. Totoki revealed the firm was committed to releasing only six live service games by the end of fiscal year 2025. The president said Sony was still considering when the other six live service titles would be launched. Totoki added that the firm would not stick to certain games. He explained that quality was the most important aspect for all gamers.
Bungie recently announced it is working on Destiny 2. The developer added that its Marathon live service game is coming to PS5, Xbox Series, and PC later this year.
Sony recently announced teamLFG and teased its debut team-based action game, a live service project. Sony’s Concord failed after receiving low player numbers. The firm brought the game offline and later decided to kill it entirely and shut down its developer.
The Concord flop happened after the firm had canceled The Last of Us by Naughty Dog. Earlier this year, the company allegedly canceled two live service titles developed by Bend and Bluepoint.
