Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2, titled “Lawless, is the latest update to the battle royale game. The new update drops players into a crime-ridden world defined by heists and high-stakes battles. In the Lawless gameplay, players can rob banks, hijack armored vehicles, or even raid a moving train. Midas, the outlaw, also makes his return as the leader of a band of criminals, adding more mayhem to the mix. The free update is available for PC, PlayStation consoles (PS4 and PS5), Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and supported mobile devices.
The new update introduces new locations such as Crime City, Lonewolf Lair, and Shiny Shafts, among others. Crime City will serve as the center of all lawless activities, with the location being host to many hideouts, vaults, and black markets where players can trade their ill-gotten Gold Bars and Dill Bits for powerful items. The update also includes the addition of new weapons, such as the Collateral Damage Assault Rifle, the Kneecapper melee weapon, the Falcon Eye Sniper rifle, and Thermite explosives. Epic Games is set to introduce the Outlaw Shotgun and Rocket Drill later on in the season.
Lawless will also switch up the gameplay through the addition of boons. The Boons are a special form of buffs that remain even after elimination. The boons added include the Gold Rush and Greed boons. The Gold Rush boon enhances the player’s movement speed and mining efficiency, while the Grred Boon will increase the currency players earn from eliminations and loot chests. The new season will also include a host of new utility equipment, such as the Port-A-Cover and the Pulse Scanner, which offer instant protection and enemy detection capabilities, respectively.
The new season also features the addition of seven new Battle Pass outfits, accessories, and themed rewards as free and premium rewards. The premium Battle Pass features seven new outfits with players making the purchase also unlocking the Cassidy Quinn character. Other unlockable characters include Joss, Fletcher Kane, Valentina, Big Dill, and Keisha Cross. Epic Games’ partnership with Mortal Kombat and Cowboy Bepop will add Sub-Zero, the iconic Lin Kuei cryomancer, and Sub-Zero’s Kombat Kit. Spike Spiegel and Faye Valentine will be introduced in the Fortnite shop on February 28. Players can also play CowBoy Bebop Quests to earn XP and themed rewards.
